New Year projects
January 10th, 2011
You might be wondering, “Where has Katy been? She’s slacking off again.”
Well, blame it on the holidays. You can still use that excuse for another week. The the holidays did set me back. And I have several projects I am working on.
One is writing a weekly parenting column at Walnut Patch. Take a look and you’ll find many other articles of interest on other topics as well.
Another project I am doing is volunteering at Presence Ministry in helping to develop programs and resources for parents and youth. There is a great need for building stronger families, and I am glad to help in any way I can.
And one more thing, since the last time I wrote about my thyroid surgery experience, I’ve had radioactive iodine treatment and a body scan. Everything looks clean of cancer, thank God! But I think my thyroid meds needs to be adjusted, as I feel my metabolism a bit off. I am also getting ready to do an echocardiogram and a bone density x-ray next week …and I am not going to mention the colonoscopy that I am hoping to avoid. This body is getting some deferred maintenance check ups this year.
With a new year comes a new start and fresh motivation. I am looking forward to all that God has in store for us in 2011!
